INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS

- To provide a performing platform for young musicians
- To develop and identify potential music talents
ENTRY FEE: $50.00 (inclusive of 1 Portrait photo)
(A copy of the scores to be submitted upon registration) |
| A CATEGORIES
The Competition is divided into Three (03) categories:-
Kindly discuss with your respective teachers which category should you sign up.
B REPERTORIE REQUIREMENTS & PERFORMANCE
Participants must prepare ONE piece.
The full programme must not exceed the following time limits:
Category 1 - Not more than 05 minutes (1 choice piece)
(Grade 1 to Grade 2 standard)
Category 2 - Not more than 07 minutes (1 choice piece)
(Grade 3 to Grade 4 standard)
Category 3 - Not more than 10 minutes (1 choice piece)
(Grade 5 standard and above)
Da capo and Dal segno signs should be observed, however, other repeats should not be played. |

1. READ THE RULES!
Entries are accepted subject to the general rules and conditions. You should read the notes under category headings as well as the individual conditions for the events you want to participate.
2. CHOOSE THE CATEGORIES
Find the categories you want to participate and write down the category number(s) and participating fee(s).
3. PARTICIPATION FORM
- All participants are to obtain the participation form and a copy of the general rules and conditions from the administrators.
- Forms will not be processed unless fully completed, including the exact fees and category number(s).
4. PAYMENT
- Payment will be collected upon submission of forms. Payment may be Cash, Nets or cheque payable to Tanglewood Music School.
- Amounts remaining unpaid after 05 March 2008 will cancel the entry.
5. LODGEMENT
Entries close on 05 March 2008. |

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER SUBMITTING YOUR FORM?
- YOUR RECEIPT: After your form has been processed, you will be given an official receipt confirming the event(s) entered and fees paid. You must inform us if you do not have this receipt within 10 days of lodgment. Please check the details on the receipt and notify us immediately of any errors. Corrections cannot be made later after timetabling.
- YOUR APPEARANCE ADVICE: When timetabling has been completed, an Appearance Advice will be sent giving the date, session time and place for your events. This must be produced as identification for admission. Please inform us if you have not received this Advice by 01 April 2008.

1. TIMETABLING
Events can only be timetabled after close of entries when we know the total number of participants, so exact dates & times cannot be given in advance.
2. YOUR PERFORMANCE
- All participants must perform when called in program order except in circumstances approved in advance by Tanglewood Music School.
- Participants are required to learn the entire pieces, however due to Time limits, adjudicators may ring the bell earlier before the pieces ended.
3. YOUR ACCOMPANIMENT
- All participants are required to engage an Accompanist. You are free to engage your own or get an Official Accompanist from Tanglewood Music School. Prior rehearsals with the Official Accompanist are compulsory. Our recommended rehearsal session is half hour.

4. Prizes
- All participants’ will receive a certificate of participation as well as a portrait photograph taken by our official photographer.
- There will be 01 Grand Prize for Overall Performer
- The Adjudicating Panel may decline to make any award or prize, if in their opinion sufficient merit has not been achieved.
- In case of any disputes, the Organizer’s decision, or that of the Adjudicating Panel acting on the Organizer’s behalf, shall be final and no discussion or correspondence will be entertained.
5. Admission
- This competition is strictly for Tanglewood Music School’s students and the admission charges also apply to parents, teachers (other than those from Tanglewood Music School) and others who may attend with participants. As a school reliant on the parents’ supports, revenue from ticket sales helps us to maintain the program.
- A benefit of participation is to watch and learn from the performances of others, and hear what comments the adjudicators may give at the end. Students and Teachers are particularly encouraged to take full advantage of this unique opportunity, as well as give sporting support to other participants.
