Tanglewood Level One Conducting Course
OBJECTIVES
Conducting is a means of communicating real-time information to performers. A conductor is responsible for leading the process of music. Conducting a chamber or symphonic orchestra, choir, band or ballet production is a profession in itself.
As part of Tanglewood’s Conducting Course, You will learn how to read orchestra scores and music in different keys. Other benefits of conducting are attaining basic knowledge about different instruments in an orchestra, specifications of voice types in choirs.
Course Benefits
Conducting will allow you to be an all-rounded musician and develop a greater appreciation for classical music. A conductor will not only be able to lead large music groups (of up to 200 musicians at once), he or she will be able to understand music compositions from “the inside”.
