Littlewood Players Austria 2010 Tour
The Littlewood Players and their families had a successful inaugural tour in Europe. The players performed beyond expectations in Salzburg and Vienna where local audiences cheered enthusiastically during their performances.
Since principal Karen started the Littlewood Players barely two years ago, the young musicians have matured and learned to play cohesively. As heard during their Vienna performance in the Primary Music School Kunterbunt, their rendition of Pachelbel’s ‘Canon’ showed that the many rehearsals and hours of practise together finally paid off.

A couple of days prior to the Vienna performance, the Littlewood Players performed at the grand Marble Hall at the Mirabell Gardens. The concert was opened by the Mayor of Salzburg and both parents and local audiences were astounded that such fine music can come from such young players – a mark of talent and hard work from each and every musician.
A solo performance by 11-year-old Brendan Goh moved listeners when the notes from his 1730 Testore cello resonated throughout the Marble Hall and into their hearts. His encore performance drew wild cheers and applause from the audience.

And when their violins, cellos and piano are put away, the Littlewood Players proved that they are still children after all; they thoroughly enjoyed the experience at the Halien Salt Mines (zipping down the wooden chute) and a fun time taking the rides at the Prater Fun Park in Vienna!

Not just the players, families were also treated to the beautiful sights of Austria at the Salzburg Fortress, Organic Farm and the majestic Schonbrunn Palace among many others. Of course, there was a day of shopping set aside exclusively for the parents and one might wonder how they managed to return to Singapore with their bounty.

Overall, it was a truly memorable experience for one and all. Plans are already on the way for a 2011 Europe Tour!
