Littlewood Players Term 3 Performance
On 10 July 2009, the Littlewood Players were invited to perform for His Excellency, President S.R. Nathan at the Singapore Zoological Gardens for the official launch of the Wildlife Reserves Singapore Conservation Fund.
The event not only gave the players an opportunity to perform in front of the President, it was an adventure for our very own talented violinists and cellists.
Everyone's here; we're all set to go!
The players got up bright and early, to report at Tanglewood Music School where transport was arranged to ferry the teachers, staff and musicians to the Singapore Zoo.
Finally! We're at the Zoo!
Once at the Zoo, we had our very own tram to bring us to the Forest Lodge, where the launch will be held; our performance venue. Little did we expect to have a little “tour” around the Zoo’s premises, where we saw penguins, orang utans, zebras and even the king of the jungle! (However, the lion was still sleeping when we rode pass).

After the ten-minute tram ride, we arrived at the Forest Lodge and quickly sprung into action. Principal Karen and the staff busied themselves with setting up the performance area. Teachers, George, Chye Yen and Dr. Goh got the musicians together and after tuning, started on rehearsals.

After a minor delay due to the rain, the President finally arrived to grace the event. After several speeches, it was time – the Littlewood Players were presented to the President and guests of the event. The musicians, despite their young age, showed maturity and professionalism and played to the hearts of the audience.
To top off the performance, the Littlewood Players had a photo opportunity with the President to remember the occasion. What an adventure!
