Repertoire Requirements & Performance
- Participants must prepare TWO pieces, one of which must be from the set piece, and an individual other piece chosen by participants, as advised by their teachers.
- The individual piece chosen by the participant must not exceed SEVEN MINUTES.
- All pieces must be performed from memory.
- Da capo and Dal segno signs should be observed, however, other repeats should not be played.

Adjudication
- The Adjudicating Panel will judge the performance under the set rules of the Competition.
- The Adjudicating Panel may decline to awards any prizes, if in their opinion; sufficient merit has not been achieved.
- In case of any disputes, the Organizer’s decision, or that of the Adjudicating Panel acting on the Organizer’s behalf, shall be final and no discussion or correspondence will be entertained.
Condition of Participation
- The registration fee is not refundable, nor transferable to any other category.
- The Organizer reserves the right to cancel any category if insufficient entries are received.
- In the event of any cancellation, the registration fees will be fully refunded.
- The Organizer will decide the participants’ order of appearance.
- The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify participants who arrive later than the scheduled time assigned to them for the Competition.
- Any participants who knowingly give inaccurate or misleading information will be disqualified.
- The Organizer will not be responsible for any on-site practise arrangements.
- The Organizer reserves the right to place participants according to their playing levels and appropriate categories,
- The Organizer reserves the right to amend the competition repertoire and program to ensure fair judging.
Rules & Regulations
- The Competition is open to all nationalities.
- All participants are required to be neatly and appropriately dressed for the Competition,
Boys – White Shirt, Black Pants
Girls – White Dress
- Participants and supporters of participants must not communicate with or influence the members of the Adjudicating Panel in any way. Failure to comply with this rule will subject the participant to disqualification.
- Where participants perform unpublished works or works in manuscript form, it is incumbent upon the participants to obtain necessary approval under the Copyright Act to perform such works during the Competition.
Registration
- Registration fee is $50 per participant.
- Accompanist is to be booked/paid separately.
- Participants must submit their registration forms and selected repertoire to Tanglewood Music School by 11 April 2009.
- The Organizer reserves the right to request participants to resubmit their repertoire if it does not meet the requirements or standard of the Competition.
- Changes to the submitted repertoire must reach the Organizer no later than 18 April 2009.
